ICYMI: 'Pinthouse Pizza' Opens a South Austin Location

In case you missed it, here's a story we reported on this past week in South Austin.

The South Austin food scene just got even bolder with the opening of Pinthouse Pizza on South Lamar Boulevard.

The popular pizzeria quietly opened its second location in an old Chili’s building in the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center. The newest location is larger than the original Burnet Road pizzeria, and it also includes an outdoor patio.

“Like the Death Star, we are fully operational at the South Lamar location,” co-owner Kyle Detrick told CultureMap Austin. “We are very excited to be a part of such an impressive lineup of offerings in the ‘04.”

While the new location may be a bit more modern than the original, faithful patrons can still expect the same well-known authentic pizza, as well as the ever-changing “Off the Map” pie of the month.

The pizzeria has quite the reputation in Austin. The restaurant is regularly regarded as one of the top brew destinations in the city. The new location includes a full brewery - just as the original - and will introduce new hop-focused beers such as the Blunderbuss Bock, Jib Cutter lager and the Electric Jellyfish IPA, according to the magazine.
