Pro Race Car Driver Set To Visit South Austin School

Indy race car driver Zach Veach will drop by Paredes Middle School on March 25, conveying the importance of math in his career.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Talk about a show-and-tell presentation. Students at a South Austin middle school are poised to welcome a professional race car driver later this month who will discuss the value of math in his career.

On March 25, Paredes Middle School students will host Indy race car driver Zach Veach. Zach will give students a behind-the-scenes look at how their STEM classroom lessons are brought to life through the workings of an Indy race car, officials said.

The school visit is part of a nationwide interactive STEM program called Endeavor, funded by the Indy 500 presenting sponsor Gainbridge, according to the visit's organizers. The program introduces local middle and high school students to exciting careers in technical fields.
