Ricky Guerrero Neighborhood Park To Close For Renovation

Closure on Jan. 22 will accommodate ambitious renovation to include ADA-compliant sidewalks, picnic tables, grills, rain gardens and more.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — Ricky Guerrero Neighborhood Park will close for renovations starting Jan. 22, city officials said.

The park areas containing the restroom facility, play equipment, picnic tables and grills will be closed during the renovation period. When completed, Ricky Guerrero Neighborhood Park will have new sidewalks adhering to Americans with Disability Act standards, picnic tables and grills, benches, rain gardens, infrastructure for drainage control, and an improved restroom facility compliant with current ADA standards.

Improvements to the playgrounds will also include a preschool play structure which will provide a more accessible, enjoyable and inclusive play area for the community, park officials added.

The renovations expected to be completed by early summer 2019.
