Second Lofty Dog Pet Supplies Store Opens In South Austin

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Lofty Dog, a locally owned pet store, has opened its second location in South Austin, officials announced on Monday.

The new store is located at The Market at Slaughter Lane Shopping Center located at 9999 Manchaca Rd. Lofty Dog offers a high-quality line of pet foods, toys, treats, supplements and other supplies, company officials said.

The opening represents an expansion for the locally based company, with its flagship store located in North Austin at The Village Shopping Center, 2700 W. Anderson Lane serving customers since 2007. Company officials noted the number of accolades the company has received since its launch, including kudos from publications such as Austin Pets Directory and Pet Product News.

Company owner John Michelson said his firm distinguishes itself by putting a premium on customer service.

“Our employees are extremely knowledgeable about pet health and nutrition, and we constantly strive to provide a personalized experience for you and your furry friends,” Michelson said.

The company also works with various local animal rescue, advocacy, and charity groups, Michelson said, regularly inviting dog rescue groups to host adoption events and meet-and-greet sessions at their store, and selecting a beneficiary every month for their Poochinis and Peticures” donation-based event.

”We’re thrilled to expand and join the South Austin pet community,” Michelson said. “We believe that we have a unique and genuine aspect to our store that you can’t find anywhere else.”
