Two Students Exiting School Buses Struck By Cars Within A Week [VIDEO]
Both incidents -- in North Austin and South Austin -- were caught on video via newly installed cameras affixed to school buses.

AUSTIN, TX -- Two Austin ISD students were struck by vehicles in two separate incidents this week -- in North Austin and South Austin -- school officials said Thursday.
Neither of the students sustained serious injury, but the incidents raise concerns about inattentive and/or irresponsible drives negotiating around school buses while children are exiting. The Austin American-Statesman reported both drivers were cited, for failing to stop for a school bus and for failing to yield for a pedestrian.
To their credit, both drivers stopped to render aid, the Statesman noted.

"Both suffered minor injuries, only bumps and bruises thankfully,” Austin school district Chief Eric Mendez told the Statesman. “We are grateful they weren’t hurt severely. It’s so important to not have any more of these occur. We want our kids to be safe everyday as they commute to and from school.”
One of the students is a middle school student and the other goes to a high school, police told the newspaper.
