Two South Austin Breweries Take Gold at the Great American Beer Festival

The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. and (512) Brewing Co., both located in South Austin, were awarded gold medals by the Great American Beer Festival.

The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. won for its Rocket 100 brew, which is a American-style or international-style pilsener.

(512) Brewing Co. won for its (512) Wild Bear, which is a Brett beer.

In total, 242 breweries nationwide took medals this year. Among the winners Texas breweries were well represented. Fourteen Texas breweries took home 15 medals. 9 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
