Woodland Avenue/Oltorf Street Exit, Ramp Closed Until Tuesday

Southbound Interstate 35 main lane and ramp closures to remain in effect until the morning of April 9 to replace overhead sign bridges.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TEXAS β€” Texas Department of Transportation crews on Monday night closed southbound Interstate 35 main lane and ramp closures in South Austin to replace overhead sign bridges.

The closures began at 10 p.m. between the Woodland Avenue/Oltorf Street exit and the entrance ramp south of Oltorf Street, and were completed by 11:45 p.m. The closures are expected to remain in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday, TxDot officials said in a press advisory.

During this time, southbound I-35 traffic will be diverted to the frontage road at the Woodland Avenue/Oltorf Street exit (232) and will re-enter I-35 at the entrance ramp south of Oltorf Street. Woodland Avenue and Oltorf Street at I-35 will close to traffic during this time. Drivers wishing to cross I-35 at Woodland Avenue or Oltorf Street should use Woodward Street or Riverside Drive.

All lanes will reopen as work is completed, TxDot said, but no later than 6 a.m.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, as delays are expected. TxDOT asks the traveling public to adhere to construction signage and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
