2 Charged In Drive-by Shooting That Injured Houston Teen

Police said Steven LeBlanc Blanco, 28, and Allison Strong-Matyas,19, shot at a home in the 14500 block of Maeline Drive on Thursday evening

HOUSTON β€” Two people who shot into a home and wounded a 13-year-old girl Thursday afternoon are in the Harris County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police said Steven LeBlanc Blanco, 28, and Allison Strong-Matyas,19, shot at a home in the 14500 block of Maeline Drive on Thursday evening and hit a teenage girl in the chest.

When police arrived at the home at about 4:30 p.m., the girl's sister told them family member told them that she and her sister were sitting on a bed in the home, when they heard a pop and glass breaking.

She said she saw her sister slump forward with a small trickle of blood on her upper chest. EMS was called to the home and the 13-year-old girl was taken to Houston Northwest Hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

Deputies searched the area near the home after a witness reported seeing a white colored pickup and a male wearing a red hoodie stop along the side of the home and shoot one time into the residence.

Deputies found surveillance video from a local business that showed the white pickup and a person wearing a red hoodie in the drivers seat. Police shared the photograph on social media urging citizens to help locate the truck.

Investigators received a tip at about 10 p.m. from a witness who saw the truck at the intersection of Greens Road and Aldine Westfield Road in a convenience store parking lot.

When deputies arrived at the store, Blanco fled in the vehicle, leading policve in a short pursuit.

Blanco and Strong-Matyas both bailed out of the truck in the 3000 block of Greens Road, and fled behind the City Of Houston Fire Station 64.

Police searched the area behind the fire station and found Blanco hiding in a storage container on the property.

Police also found Strong-Matyas walking along a side street. Both were arrested and taken to the Harris County Jail.

Blanco is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon.

Strong-Matyas is also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon because she was in the vehicle when Blanco shot into the residence. Police have not said what led to the shooting.
