Recent research finds that older adults who own pets feel more socially connected, experience higher happiness and life satisfaction, and report reduced loneliness. Pet owners in the study also benefited from better physical health, lower stress, and more frequent activity, especially dog owners who enjoy the social and emotional benefits of daily walks.

Participants must be 65 and older. One pet adoption per person. A limited number of adoptions are available. For more information, call (832) 585-1941.
