Spring Fire Department Takes On Cancer With Big Climb

Members of the Spring Fire Department made a big climb for charity this weekend in downtown Houston

HOUSTON, TX — Members of the Spring Fire Department did something heroic this weekend and while it didn't involve any sort of rescue, their efforts could help save lives.

The firefighters, all members of the Spring Fire Big Climb team, climbed 50 floors to the roof of Allen Center 3 in downtown to raise money to fight blood cancers.

The Spring Fire Department, joined by other teams and individuals from different organizations with a common goal to raise money toward a $100,000 goal, began their heroic climb at 8 a.m. Saturday.
