Children age 18 and under are eligible and do not have to be enrolled in summer school or show proof of income to receive a free meal at the participating schools. Adults may also participate by purchasing breakfast for $1.50 and lunch for $3.50 each.
"We want our families to know that just because school out does not mean that their children need to go without free, nutritious meals," said Shelly Copeland, Spring ISD Child Nutrition Director.
"Our summer feeding program is open to all of our students, whether they are enrolled in summer school or not, and we encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity."
