MISSOURI CITY, TX — The following is a rundown of actions that were taken at the Missouri City Council meeting on Oct. 15.

City Council members authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract for the construction of a skate park; authorized the execution of a Community Development Block Grant housing rehabilitation contract and approved an ordinance amending the general budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2018, and ending Sept. 30, 2019.

The city council also swore in more than 65 students to the 2018-2019 Mayor’s Youth Commission, which helps promote civic involvement.

  • Family Fun Night: Halloween Edition is on Friday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.at the Recreation & Tennis Center.
  • Drug Take Back Day is on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. at Public Safety Headquarters
  • Tricks and Treats in the Park is also on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. at Buffalo Run Park.
  • Stuff the Squad Car & Fire Truck is on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Public Safety Headquarters.
