While both drivers were outside their cars exchanging information, a silver Jeep Compass pulled in front of the Cadillac, and the passenger, who was wearing a mask, pointed a shotgun at the driver of the Cadillac, the Conroe Courier reported.

Both Govea and Delgado grabbed the man and tried to force the man into the Jeep, but he was able to break free and ran into a wooded area, and called for help.

Both Govea and Delgado left in the Jeep and the Cadillac, while the third driver left in the Toyota.

Meanwhile, a Montgomery County deputy who was responding to the area saw a silver Jeep on Woodlands Parkway approaching East Panther Creek that matched the description given.

According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, the deputy followed the Jeep until just before Grogan's Mill where deputies stopped the Jeep.

During the traffic stop, deputies found a shotgun, a mask and a pair of gloves in the backseat.

Delgado, who was driving the Jeep, was placed under arrest.

While Delgado was being detained, deputies spotted the Cadillac traveling south on Interstate 45 near Rayford Road, and stopped the car.

The driver, who was identified as Govea, was arrested.

Officials said the driver of the Toyota, who is believed to have been part of the carjacking scheme, has been identified, but is not in custody.

The case is under investigation.
