3 Horses Killed In Drunk Driving Crash Near Tomball: Police

The driver of a pickup who was pulling a horse trailer crashed into a light pole and killed three horses inside, police said.

TOMBALL, TX β€” Three horses were killed with the driver of a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer slammed into a light pole, police said. The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of State Highway 249 feeder road and the Grand Parkway.

Police said the driver of the pickup was speeding and may have been drunk when he hit the light pole.

The driver was badly injured in the crash and was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is in critical condition.

Police said the driver showed signs of intoxication at the hospital and could pursue animal cruelty charges as a result of the crash.
