Deputies Seize 230 Cats From Home In Montgomery County
Officials conducting an animal cruelty investigation found more than 200 cats suffering from various medical conditions, police said.

SPRING, TX β A case of animal cruelty led officials to the discovery of a home where more than 200 cats were being hoarded, police said. Investigators with Houston SPCA, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Live Stock Unit, and Montgomery County Animal Control conducted an investigation on Wednesday at a home in the 3300 block of Hickory Hollow Road.
That's where they found 230 cats with various medical issues, Lt. Scott Spencer said in a sheriff's department press release.
Each of the cats were evaluated by a veterinarian from Montgomery County Animal Control, Spencer said.

County officials issued a seizure warrant and all of the cats were taken to the Houston SPCA for individualized care. Investigators have not said yet if charges will be filed. The case remains under investigation.
