Filing Begins For The Woodlands Township Election
The filing period for a slot on the Woodlands Township Board elections on Nov. 6 has begun.

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The filing period has begun for candidates in the The Woodlands Township Board of Directors November election.Eligible candidates can sign up in person at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard.
Qualifications to serve a two-year term of office on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors include:
- 18 years old by Nov. 6
- Resident of The Woodlands Township for at least six months
- Resident of Texas for 12 months
- U.S. citizen
Candidates are disqualified if they have a felony conviction or they are declared mentally incompetent.

There are four at-large positions on the ballot this year. Incumbents in some of those races have already declared their candidacy.
Chairman Gordy Bunch, who represents position 1 on the board signed up for a place on the ballot on Monday. Incumbents John Anthony Brown in position 3 and Bruce Rieser in position 4 have also signed up to run for a new two-year term. Position 2 director Brian Boniface has not filed for a place on the ballot.

Candidates have until Aug. 20 to file for the election. Write-in candidates have until Aug. 24 to declare.
Election information packets are available at The Woodlands Township Town Hall or can be downloaded from the Township website.
