Find Something To Do This Weekend In Houston's Neghborhoods

HOUSTON — It’s too wet to mow the yard, and if the rain has kept you inside this week then there’s a chance you’ll want to be out and about this weekend.

One of the perks about living and working in the Houston metro region is that there’s never a reason to not find something fun to do with your family or friends.

There are a number of great activities happening in the Houston area this weekend. Here are a few worth checking out.

Friday:

Fandemic Tour Houston 2018| NRG Center| Friday-Sunday|Tickets are $40| Revel in your geekdom this weekend and faun of some of your favorite celebs from “The Walking Dead” and other cult favorites. Times will vary each day.

Houston Astros vs. Arizona Diamondbacks| The World Series Champs kick off their series Friday night at the Juicebox against the Diamnodbacks. Click the link to find your tickets.

The Tomball GrooveFest| Tomball, TX| Saturday| FREEBIE| Formerly known as the Beetles, Brew, and BBQ festival, the Groovefest has been rebranded to showcase everything groovy. If you love Led Zepplin and the Beatles, and the 60s the Tomball Depot is where you’ll want to be this weekend.

Budweiser’s Backyard| Houston| Saturday 11-4| FREEBIE| In celebration of The King of Beers and the local communities where it’s brewed, the Budweiser Brewery Experience in Houston will host Budweiser’s Backyard on Saturday, Sept. 15 for the Houston community. The event is complimentary and guests of all ages are invited to celebrate with food trucks featuring the food America loves most, live music from country artists Ben Gallaher and Seth Ennis, and freshly brewed Budweiser. The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales full hitch team will also perform for the celebration. Guests can see the full hitch parade and visit the Clydesdales in their stables to learn how the horses became an iconic symbol of Budweiser.

Stroll Thru The Renaissance| Magnolia| Saturday noon-8 p.m.| Hosted by Lone Pint Brewery| Come out to Magnolia this Saturday for some Renaissance fun! This event is always a lot of fun and the brewery will have extended hours from noon to 8:00. We also welcome the very talented Ryan Pinnick to the Lone Pint stage. Soul Cat Cuisine Mobile Food Truck will also be here so it's going to be a great day!

The Woodlands Oktoberfest|Town Green Park| Saturday 11a.m. - 11 p.m.| FREEBIE|Bratwurst, strudel, and beer, oh my. The Woodlands is hosting its Oktoberfest with food from area food trucks, music, and more. Grab your Lederhosen and embrace your inner German.

Texas Taco Music Fest|Discovery Green in downtown| Saturday noon-9 p.m.| Tickets| Presented by the Coalition of Hispanics for Excellence In Technology & Art, it’s Texas Taco Mania and plenty of music too. It’s a good time.

Waugh Street Bat Colony Boat Tour| Saturday 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.| Tickets|Who doesn’t want take a boat tour on Buffalo Bayou to hang out and watch 250,000 bats take flight simultaneously? The Waugh Street Bat Colony is a must see and fun any time of year.

Hypnotist Daniel James| Sugar Land Town Square| Saturday 7-8:30 p.m.| FREEBIE| Don’t try this at home. Let the professionals like Daniel James mesmerize you instead.

Houston Barbecue Throwdown at Saint Arnold Brewery| Sunday 1-4 p.m.|Tickets are $65|It’s a smorgasbord of smoked meat as BBQ pitmasters show off their expertise. Pros such as Buck’s Barbeque Co, Feges BBQ, Harlem Road Texas BBQ, The Pit Room, Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue will be there.
