Spring Man Arrested For Impersonating A Peace Officer

Police said Travis Crawford was on the Grand Parkway flashing blue and red lights and using a siren to get motorists to slow down.

SPRING, TX — A Spring man was arrested June 8 and charged with impersonating a public servant. Travis Crawford, 38, who works as a security guard, was detained by deputy constables on at State Highway 242 and U.S. 59.

A witness told police that at about 6:30 Sunday evening, he was driving east on the Grand Parkway and saw a black Dodge Charger flashing red and blue lights and using a siren to get motorists to obey state traffic laws.

A witnesses called 911, and deputy constables were able to catch up with the driver, identified as Crawford, when he pulled into a business at SH 242 and U.S. 59.

After speaking with Crawford, deputies determined that he worked as an armed security guard and not a licensed peace officer. Deputies said they later determined he didn't even have a valid Texas Commissioned Security Guard License.

Crawford admitted to using the emergency equipment to slow down traffic even though he was traveling almost 90 miles per hour.

He was arrested for Impersonating a Public Servant, a third degree felony, and released to Montgomery County Jail personnel. His bond is set at $3,000.
