Spring Woman Is Attacked By Knife-Wielding Man While Jogging

Police are looking for a man who may have tried to kidnap a 28-year-old woman as she jogged along Oakhurst Drive on Monday.

SPRING, TX β€” Investigators are looking for a man who attacked a 28-year-old woman with a knife as she jogged near her apartment complex Monday evening. The attack happened at about 8:30 p.m. on Oakhurst Drive, near the Imperial Chase Apartment complex.

The woman told police that two men in a small car were driving near her as she jogged. The driver pulled to the front of her with his high-beam headlines on and pointed at her.

The woman told investigators that the man got out of his car and grabbed her. The woman said she fle the man was trying to kidnap her and she fought her attacker. As they struggled, the woman said the man pulled out a knife and cut her on her left forearm.

She was able to break free from her attacker and when he saw she that was bleeding, he got in his car and fled.

The woman ran back to her home and called 911. The woman was treated at the scene by EMS and taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Deputies patrolled the area, but could not find a vehicle that matched the description provided by the victim, investigators said. Police are reviewing any possible surveillance footage in the area and have increased patrols in the area.

Police are looking for a black or Hispanic man wearing a black sweatshirt. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 or Crime Stoppers at 800-392-STOP (7867).
