Tomball Man Arrested After Attacking Uber Driver: Police

A 23-year-old man who was accused of attacking an Uber driver outside a Tomball bar was arrested Saturday, police said.

TOMBALL, TX β€” A Tomball man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly assaulted an Uber driver, according to Harris County Pct. 4 deputy constables. Police were called to the Bombshells in the 24000 block of Tomball Parkway for a disturbance.

The Uber driver told deputies he'd been called by the management at Bombshells to pick up a man who was intoxicated.

When the man, identified as Joseph Ortiz, got into the car, the driver said Ortiz became belligerent and demanded to be taken back to the Bombshells.

As he was driving back to Bombshells, the driver said Ortiz punched him several times in the back of the neck and the face.

Ortiz was arrested and charged with assault-bodily injury. A judge set his bond at $1,000.
