Tomball School Tagged With Swastika, 'Whites Only' Graffiti

Some residents were surprised to hear about the tagging incident at Tomball's Willow Wood Junior High.

TOMBALL, TX -- A woman who was taking a Sunday morning walk around the track at Willow Wood Junior High School was shocked to find a swastika and the words “whites only” scrawled in black spray paint on sections of the track. The sight of the images frightened the woman, who asked that Patch not use her name in this story.

It left her with a sickening feeling, and left some in the community feeling outraged and confused by the incident.

“This just isn’t something you’d expect to see here,” said Roy White, who has grown children. “This is the kind of junk you might see some place else. I don't know why someone would do that.”

A Tomball resident who didn’t want his name used chalked it up to kids being kids, or someone playing a sick prank looking for attention, which that someone very well might receive from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as it is looking for the suspects in the case.

While it may be shocking to some, it’s not unheard of in Tomball ISD. In March 2013, an African-American Tomball Junior High School student found a handwritten note on his desk inviting him to a “KKK Party” with lots of fun and games, according to a KTRK report.

The two white students who left the note were disciplined.
