TxDOT Hosts Meeting In Tomball On FM 2920 Expansion
TxDOT officials will unveil their plans for widening segments of FM 2920 at a meeting on Thursday at Tomball High School

TOMBALL, TEXAS β The Texas Department of Transportation will be hosting a public meeting Thursday to unveil plans and solicit feedback on the potential widening of FM 2920. The meeting will be held at Tomball High School, located at 30330 Quinn Rd, Tomball, TX, at 6 p.m.
TxDOT officials hosted meetings in Waller and in Tomball earlier this year to discuss widening the Farm-to-Market road from two lanes, to four lanes.
The plan calls for widening FM 2920 to four lanes from U.S. 290 to Cypress-Rosehill Street, west of Telge Road.

The plan would also include widening FM 2920 from four to six lanes, between Cypress-Rosehill to State Highway 249 in In Tomball.
According to a traffic study conducted in 2015 by TxDOT, as many as 16,000 vehicles travel the two-lane stretch between FM 2920 and U.S. 290 each day. The number of vehicles is projected to double over the next 20 years.

Officials noted that residential and commercial development along FM 2920, as well as the completion of the Grand Parkway, has also added to the traffic congestion between Waller and Tomball in recent years.
