Victims Of La Porte Plane Crash Were From The Woodlands: Reports

Gary Stewart Boyd, 64, and John Stewart Boyd, 93, were killed with their Kolb Twinstar III crashed Sunday morning.

LA PORTE, TX -- Police have identified two men killed in a plane crash on Sunday in La Porte as residents from The Woodlands.

Officials with the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that 64-year-old Gary Stewart Boyd, and 93-year-old John Stewart Boyd were the two occupants of the plan that crashed at 9 a.m. Sunday, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Both men were killed when their single-engine experimental aircraft, known as a Kolb Twinstar III crashed about 300 yards short of the runway at La Porte Municipal Airport.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, and local law enforcement agencies.
