THE WOODLANDS, TX – It's summer in Texas and it's not uncommon for people to think about spending a few hours at the neighborhood park or playground.

  • Though most playgrounds in The Woodlands are surrounded by trees, on a hot day, touch the equipment, especially slides, before using. If it’s too hot for your hand; it’s too hot to play on.
  • With the current heat advisories, it's vitally important to stay hydrated. Children, and even parents may not realize how hard they are exerting themselves and could become dehydrated. Drink lots of water and don’t forget the sunscreen.
  • Abide by the park guidelines. Most playgrounds have stickers designating the play area for children 2 to 5-year-old, or 5 to 12-years-old.
  • Please, don't park bicycles, scooters, or strollers in the play area. A child who is running around and playing a game may not be paying attention to objects that they could trip and fall on.

If you have any issues at the parks and playgrounds, please call The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department at 281-210-3900.
