The Woodlands Walter Lisiewski Declares For Township Board Seat

THE WOODLANDS, TX — There’s a familiar face to residents in The Woodlands who is seeking a seat on the Township Board. Walter Lisiewski, a resident of the community for 30 years, and long-time volunteer in the community announced Monday he was running to replace Carol Stromatt in Position 7.

Stromatt, who won a two-year term in 2017, announced last week that she would not seek a second term.

Lisiewski made his announcement on the first official day of the application period to sign up for a place on the ballot.

Positions 5, 6, and 7, which are all two-year terms, are on Township Board of Directors will be on the ballot on Nov. 5.

Those who wish to run for a seat on the Township board must meet certain requirements to serve:

• Being a citizen of the United States
• Officially reside in the state of Texas for 12 months prior to application for candidacy
• Official resident of The Woodlands Township for six months prior to the date of application for candidacy
• Must be at least 18-years old as of Nov. 5, 2019.
• Any person who has been convicted of a felony or is deemed by a medical professional to have "mental incompetence" is prohibited from running for office.
