19-Year-Old St. Croix Man Caught Driving Stolen Truck, Say Police

Keishawn Monsanto was arrested on Tuesday and faces charges of first degree robbery, according to police.

ST. CROIX, USVI — 19-year-old Keishawn D. Monsanto was arrested on Tuesday, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department. Police say Monsanto was driving a stolen vehicle and was found with items that had been stolen during a robbery at The Palms at Pelican Cove earlier the same day.

Police spokesman Toby Derima said that Monsanto was originally spotted driving a white Ford F-150 truck that had been reported stolen. "After a brief chase, Monsanto was apprehended and items found in the stolen vehicle were from a robbery that occurred just moments earlier at The Palms at Pelican Cove," said Derima,

Monsanto, of White Lady, is charged with first degree robbery. He was unable to post the $75,000 bail and was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
