Cannabis-Inspired Beers Now On St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS, USVI —SweetWater Brewing Company beers are now available on St. Thomas and you can try them tonight at Za Rock Pizza Kitchen's pizza and beer pairing.

SweetWater Brewing Company, based in Atlanta, is one of the largest independent craft brewers in the U.S. They rose to prominence with their 420 line of beers, which use terpenes and natural hemp flavors to mimic the flavor and aroma of cannabis.

SweetWater Brewing was recently bought by Aphria Inc., a leading global cannabis company. So does that mean cannabis brews are coming to the territory next?

Eh, we've got some legislation to clear up, first.

If you can't make it to Za Rock Pizza Kitchen tonight, you can get SweetWater beer at a number of bars, restaurants and retailers across St. Thomas, including Cost-U-Less, Moe's, Tap and Still, Island Time Pub, XO Bistro, Sib's, Box Bar and Food Center.
