Coastweeks Cleanups Continues through October

Volunteer opportunities to clean up STX and STT beaches.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Missed your chance to join a beach clean-up? Not to worry! The University of the Virgin Islands announced four more clean-up events in October and the Virgin Islands Marine Advisory Service is seeking volunteers.

  • (STT) Saturday Oct. 23: Frenchtown, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Meet by ballfield
  • (STT) Sunday Oct. 24: Hull Bay beach, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • (STJ) Saturday Oct. 23: Drunk Bay, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Meet at saltpond parking lot.
  • (STX) Saturday Oct. 23: Dorsch beach, 8 a.m.- 9 a.m. Land and underwater

The cleanup crews remove trash from coastlines, beaches and roadways. Students who attend are eligible to receive community service hours.
