DPNR: Coki Point Not Recommended For Swimming Due to Bacteria
The latest results of the Beach Quality Monitoring Program indicate that three beaches exceed acceptable bacteria levels, including Coki.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) released the latest results of the Beach Quality Monitoring Program. DPNR employees test beaches throughout the territory during the week of August 23, – August 27, 2021.
The program evaluates water quality at popular swimming beaches by sampling for Enterococci bacteria and turbidity.
The following three beaches exceeded allowable limits for Enterococci Bacteria and are therefore not safe for swimming or fishing:

- Great Cruz Bay on St. John
- Dorsch Beach and Sprat Hall on St. Croix
- Coki Point on St. Thomas
- Stony Ground
- Pelican Cove
- Buccaneer
- Halfpenny Beach
- Cane Bay
- Shoy’s Beach
- Princess (Condo Row)
- Protestant Cay
- Frederiksted Public Beach
- Cramer’s Park
- New Fort (Ft. Louise Augusta)
- Rainbow Beach
- Chenay Bay
- Water Bay
- Sapphire Beach
- Lindqvist Beach
- Bolongo Bay
- Vessup Bay
- Frenchman’s Bay
- Bluebeard’s Beach
- Secret Harbor
- Magen’s Bay
- Lindbergh Bay
- Brewer’s Bay
- Hull Bay
- Honeymoon Beach
- Cruz Bay
- Oppenheimer
- Johnson Bay
- Frank Bay
Samples were not collected at the following beaches and therefore the water quality is unknown:
- Gentle Winds
- Columbus Landing
- Grapetree Bay
