Four Shot, Two Minors Are Killed In Deadly St. Croix Shoot-Out
Two 17-year-old victims were left in a car in front of the hospital. Both died. Two more men were treated for gunshot wounds.
ST. CROIX, USVI — Two men were killed and two more men were treated for gunshot wounds following a shoot-out on Monday night in Castle Coakley, according to a press release from the Virgin Islands Police Department.
Police were alerted to the incident when three of the victims were taken to the Juan Francisco Luis Hospital & Medical Center by private vehicle. Officers found two of the men had been left in a vehicle parked in front of the hospital. They had no vital signs and were pronounced dead.
The victims were identified as Odonnie Heywood of Concordia Manor and Jahny Ledesma of Canebrake Apartments, both 17 years old.

The third victim, whose identity has not been released, was admitted to the hospital where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds. He is listed in stable condition.
A fourth gunshot victim arrived at the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound in his back. He told police that he was in Castle Coakley, in the vicinity of Thomas Bakery, when he observed a vehicle approaching and heard gunfire. The victim was treated and released.

Sean Santos, Sr., St. Croix District Chief of Police, denounced this shooting, “it is always sad when young men, full of promise, fall victim to senseless gun violence before that promise is realized."
