Governor Bryan Issues Stricter Travel Rules For BVI
The new rules go into effect on Monday, July 19. Bryan also advised against traveling to the BVI given the current COVID-19 outbreak.

ST. THOMAS, USVI — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. announced new protocols for anyone traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands from the British Virgin Islands. The stricter rules will take effect as the BVI faces a new COVID-19 outbreak that has caused six deaths and more than 1,550 active cases.
Anyone entering the territory from the BVI must provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 hours of their departure, as first reported by the St. Thomas Source. Test results should be uploaded to the V.I. Health Department's travel portal. The new regulations take effect on Monday, July 19.
Bryan warned that the rules will be strictly enforced and anyone who tries to bypass the travel protocols will be prosecuted. “If you don’t have a negative COVID test, don’t enter our waters. We are not playing,” he said.
