ST. THOMAS, USVI — The Joseph Gomez Elementary School will resume in-person learning for students in grades K-3rd on Sept. 20, said the Virgin Islands Department of Education.

The campus was closed for two days last week due to a COVID-19 exposure. After the exposure, students and staff who attended school in-person underwent COVID-19 testing run by the V.I. Department of Health (VIDOH) on Sept. 16.

However, not all students and staff participated in the testing on Sept. 16. The DOE has announced that those students and staff who did not participate are not allowed on campus until they have tested and produced negative COVID-19 test results.
