Low-Pressure System To Hit USVI Late Wednesday Night

The latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center predicts a 40% chance of turning into a storm by the time it reaches the USVI.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave is on track to hit the U.S. Virgin Islands Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The National Hurricane Center has released the latest updateon the system, which it's been tracking since last week.

Currently, the system is producing a small cluster of showers and thunderstorms over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean. The system is moving quickly westward to west-northwestward at about 20 mph, likely reaching the Lesser Antilles on Wednesday night.
