Man Arrested And Charged With Murder Of Keoner Baron
Justin Matthews was arrested and charged with the murder of Keoner Baron. Baron was shot in the parking lot of the Home Depot on Saturday.
ST. THOMAS, USVI — Police arrested Justin A. Matthews on Monday and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting of 20-year-old Keoner Baron in the parking lot of Home Depot, according to a statement from the Virgin Island Police Department.
Matthews, age 23 of Contant, was denied bail and turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
Police Commissioner Nominee Ray Martinez thanked community members for giving officers information on this incident, leading to Matthews’ swift arrest. “This is a perfect example of how efficient we can be when the VIPD and the community work together,” Commissioner Martinez said.
