Port Authority To Christen New Pilot Boat

The Edmund Steel Pilot Boat joins Port Authority's fleet.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The V.I. Port Authority will christen the newest member of its marine fleet this month, the Edmund Steel Pilot Boat. The pilot boat will be used to transport VIPA's marine pilots to cruise ships, cargo ships, yachts, and other large vessels that enter the harbors of the St. Thomas/St. John District. The vessel will be named in honor of former VIPA Marine Terminal Supervisor, Mr. Edmund Steele.

The Edmund Steele Pilot Boat is a 33-foot by 10-foot beam, Almar Sounder hull pilot boat built by North River.
