Sargassum Got Your Business Down? Take This Survey
The V.I. Hotel and Tourism Association wants to survey local business owners about Sargassum and how it's affecting the bottom line.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The V.I. Hotel and Tourism Association is polling local business owners about the impact of the Sargassum.
The association is trying to assess how the seaweed - and the rotting stench it brings - might be affecting the tourism industry.
"Since 2011 sargassum events have resulted in excessive seaweed-stranding biomass causing considerable damage to the environment, human health and local economy of the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean region. Our goal is to assess the socio-economic impact of Sargassum events on the tourism industry in the US Virgin Islands," read a statement released by the association.
