Traveling To Chicago This Summer? Read This Before You Go.

Chicago added the USVI to its Travel Advisory and recommends unvaccinated travelers get a negative COVID-19 test before visiting the city.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — The U.S. Virgin Islands made the naughty list, at least according to the city of Chicago.

The Chicago Department of Public Health flagged the U.S. Virgin Islands as a hot-spot for COVID-19. On Tuesday, the city added the territory to the Travel Advisory, also called "the Orange list." Florida, Louisana and Nevada also made the list.

States and territories are flagged once they reach 15 new cases of COVID-19 per day, per 100,000 residents.

What does that actually mean? Well, not that much. According to CDPH website, "unvaccinated individuals traveling from the states or territories on the Orange list are advised – not required – to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Chicago or quarantine for a 10-day period upon arrival."

Vaccinated travelers don't have to do anything.
