Tropical Storm Peter Veers North, USVI Will Experience Showers

The USVI may see some rain from the periphery of the storm as it passes north, but will avoid heavy winds.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Tropical Storm Peter is forecast to pass north of the Territory late Monday into Tuesday morning. The Territory can expect some rainfall but will be spared of the heaviest winds. For more

As of Sunday night, Tropical Storm Peter was a few hundred miles east of the northernmost Leeward Islands. The storm is moving at around 17 mph with maximum sustained winds near 45 mph with higher gusts. The National Hurricane Center has said there are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
