VI Families Can Expect Child Tax Credit Advance This Week

The Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Department of Finance will process the first of five Child Tax Credit advance payments this week.

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Virgin Island families can expect to receive the first advance payout of the Child Tax Credit this week. The announcement came from Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach during this week's Government House Weekly Press Briefing.

The tax credits total up to $1,500 per child who is under 17 years old. The Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Department of Finance will pay out the Child Tax Credit advances in five monthly installments of $300 per child. They will process and send the first installment this week and will continue every month through December 2021.
