Ari Melber, currently the host of "The Point," will be replacing the former host of "For The Record."

Van Susteren, who long worked for Fox News, was seen by many as an odd fit for the left-leaning MSNBC. However, some hoped her close relationship with MSNBC star Rachel Maddow would win her trust among viewers and ease the transition.
In addition to Van Susteren, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly was poached by MSNBC's sister network, NBC News. Kelly, too, has appeared to struggle with the transition from Fox News in recent weeks as her Sunday night show has garnered disappointing ratings.

In a statement, MSNBC said it was ending its business relationship with Van Susteren on amicable terms and called her well-regarded.
