Ivanka Trump's Security Clearance Faces Scrutiny
"Lack of candor, particularly regarding contacts with Russian officials, has been a significant issue," Democrats wrote in a letter.

WASHINGTON, DC — As her brother and husband come under criticism for meeting with a Russian lawyer during the campaign, Ivanka Trump herself now faces tougher scrutiny as Democrats question the grounds for her security clearance.
"Lack of candor, particularly regarding contacts with Russian officials, has been a significant issue for the Trump administration," reads a letter signed by 22 Democrats sent to acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
Many Democrats have already called for Jared Kushner, president Trump's son-in-law and top aide, to lose his security clearance after it was reported that he omitted more than 100 foreign contacts in his initial application. Intentionally lying on a security clearance application is potentially punishable by prison time.

“We are concerned that Ivanka Trump may have engaged in similar deception,” the letter reads. “The high standard to which we hold public servants, particularly senior advisers to the President of the United States, requires that these questions be raised, and promptly answered.”

Ivanka Trump works in the White House along with Kushner, her husband; even before questions were raised about their security clearance, many criticized the president for putting family members without much experience in government in important positions.
