President Trump Dictated Son's Misleading Statement On Russia Contacts: WaPo
"Somebody can argue the president is saying he doesn't want you to say the whole truth," one source told the Post.

WASHINGTON, DC — President Trump dictated the much-criticized statement his son Donald Trump Jr. gave to the New York Times in response to the revelations that his father's campaign held a meeting with a Russian lawyer before the election, according to a report from the Washington Post.
The statement omitted crucial facts about the meeting, including the number of people in attendance, the fact that potentially damaging information about Hillary Clinton was discussed and that the lawyer was said to be working for the Russian government in support of Trump's candidacy. The Times' reporting eventually revealed this information, prompting Trump Jr. to release the meeting's planning emails on Twitter. White House advisers, requesting anonymity, told the Post they were concerned that President Trump's involvement in the crafting of a misleading statement made it seem as though the president was engaged in a cover-up.
"Somebody can argue the president is saying he doesn’t want you to say the whole truth,” one source told the Post of the incident. This revelation may be a point of interest in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's continuing investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election.
