President Trump's Approval Rating Falls To Lowest Point: Poll
"There is zero good news for President Donald Trump in this survey," the assistant director of the poll said.

WASHINGTON, DC — Sixty percent of U.S. voters believe President Trump did something illegal or unethical in his dealings with Russia, fewer than three in 10 voters believe he is level-headed and more than half say they disapprove of the way he is handling the economy, immigration and climate change, according to a poll released Wednesday.
Those negatives, and more, contributed to a new low in the president's overall approval rating as charted by Quinnipiac University. Only 34 percent of American voters approve of the president's performance, while 57 percent of voters disapprove. "There is zero good news for President Donald Trump in this survey, just a continual slide into a chasm of doubt about his policies and his very fitness to serve," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "If this were a prize fight, some in his corner might be thinking about throwing in the towel. This is counter puncher Donald Trump's pivotal moment to get up off the mat."

The best news to be found in the poll for Trump, if you're really trying, is that only 31 percent of American voters think the president did something illegal in his relationship with Russia. Another, 29 percent, though, believe he did something unethical, according to the poll, and only 24 percent say he did nothing wrong.
A decisive 73 percent of voters in the survey approved of the decision to appoint Robert Mueller as special counsel in the Russia investigation, while only 15 percent disapproved.

More than half of those polled believe the president is dishonest, lacks good leadership skills, does not care about average Americans, is not intelligent and does not share their values.
Polls have their differences. Rasmussen, for example, tends to produce somewhat more favorable numbers for the president, while Quinnipiac tends to be slightly on the more negative side. But an average of recent reliable approval polls by FiveThirtyEight shows that Trump is in new-low territory. In its aggregated model, FiveThirtyEight finds that Trump's approval is languishing at 38.3 percent — his lowest point by this measurement.
