Trump Organization Skimmed Funds From Kids' Cancer Charity: Forbes
Eric Trump's foundation said the money would go to help sick kids; instead, much of it went to Trump businesses, according to the report.

NEW YORK, NY — The Eric Trump Foundation, a public charity founded by the second son of the president, funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars in donation to the for-profit Trump Organization rather than to help children with cancer, according to a report published Tuesday by Dan Alexander in Forbes. The foundation apparently deceived donors and may have violated tax laws in the process, Alexander says.
Citing filings for the Eric Trump Foundation and other charities, Alexander found that the foundation paid to use Donald Trump's golf courses for a fundraising tournament. However, Eric Trump had publicly claimed that using the golf course would be free of charge and that all donations would go directly to the charity's programs. In total, more than $500,000 the foundation received went to other charities, four of which also paid to hold tournaments at the Trump golf courses, according to the report.
Alexander writes, "All of this seems to defy federal tax rules and state laws that ban self-dealing and misleading donors."
