Watch Live Stream: President Trump Delivers Health Care Statement

The president's remarks come ahead of GOP plans to vote on some kind of health care bill in the Senate.

WASHINGTON, DC — President Trump will deliver a statement on health care in the White House Blue Room Monday at around 3:15 p.m. Eastern, ahead of a Senate vote this week.

Trump gave something of a preview to his remarks on Twitter Monday morning, writing, "Republicans have a last chance to do the right thing on Repeal & Replace after years of talking & campaigning on it." However, at this point, it's not clear what if anything the Senate will have a chance to vote on. The Better Health Care Act, crafted largely in secret by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, was declared dead after four GOP senators officially came out in opposition to the bill. At least three senators have said they would not allow an Obamacare "repeal-only" bill — which would end much of the law's funding but not its regulations — to come to the floor.

If McConnell does want to get some version of BCRA to a vote, there's been no official word about which version of the bill he will bring forward. Multiple changes have been offered for the bill, including an amendment by Sen. Ted Cruz that critics say could completely destabilize the markets. The version of BCRA with the Cruz amendment in place has not been evaluated by the Congressional Budget Office, meaning the senators could vote without having a clue what the bill would do to the health care system.
