Vice President Pence: 'Trump Is The Best Friend' Military Will Ever Have (Watch Replay)
The vice president spoke ahead of the commissioning ceremony when graduates of the Naval Academy swear an oath of service.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Vice President Pence declared that President Trump is the "best friend the armed forces of the United States will ever have" in his commencement address at the U.S. Naval Academy graduation Friday morning.
"Let me be clear, the era of budget cuts of the armed forces of the United States is over," Pence said, reflecting the president's recently announced budget which pushes for increased defense spending.

"Founded in 1845, the U.S. Naval Academy today is a prestigious four-year service academy that prepares midshipmen morally, mentally and physically to be professional officers in the naval service," the academy explains on its website. "More than 4,400 men and women representing every state in the U.S. and several foreign countries make up the student body, known as the Brigade of Midshipmen. U.S. News and World Reports has recognized the Naval Academy as a top five undergraduate engineering school and a top 20 best liberal arts college."
