Additionally, Adrienne has completed her 200-hour power yoga teacher training and is also certified in trauma-informed, adaptive yoga, and foundations of meditation practices. She is the wife of, Ryan Heist, and mother to daughters, Scarlett, and Willow. Her first child is a 10-year-old Great Dane named Buckley, a 170-pound lap dog. Adrienne is a natural healer and caregiver, passionate about the beginning of life and end of life stages and helping those struggling with illness and grief. She understands firsthand the struggles of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and attributes yoga to saving her life.
Desperate to heal her mind after suffering from Postpartum Depression, Adrienne found Yoga in 2018. Her practice developed behind closed doors until she built the confidence to explore studios and became yoga certified to deepen her understanding of the practice and help others heal too. She quickly realized that in our society, yoga classes are often falsely advertised to all skill levels, solely focusing on the fitness aspects, but often leaving out the spiritual ones. The language used in westernized practice isn’t always inclusive, and typically focuses on the full expansion of poses, rather than meeting students where they are. Exclusive language may cause a vulnerable beginner to leave feeling worse than when they arrived. This inspired Adrienne’s mission to build an inclusive yoga space for all people, at all skill levels, to practice and heal. She is grateful to be opening a yoga studio in the Phoenixville area, as this is the community she proudly served during her time as a bedside nurse.
