Book Carnival, a store devoted to mystery and suspense, has been in Orange for over 40 years, since 1981! Since 1991 we have been in our current location at El Dorado Plaza, on Tustin Street, just south of Palmyra. Ed and Pat Thomas founded the store and helped several big authors like Michael Connelly, Dean Koontz, and T. Jefferson Parker get their start. In 2010, Anne Saller bought Book Carnival, spruced up the store, and continues the tradition of in-store author events, among many loyal and new customers and authors. She brought the store into the 21st century with an email newsletter, social media marketing, interactive website, and an online sales platform. During the pandemic she sold books online and curbside. The store is now open again to the public and we have resumed in-person author events as well continuing Zoom events for some out-of-state/country authors.
