California Automobile Museum

Come to the museum every third Sunday of the month and enjoy a FREE ride (with paid museum admission) in one of our many beautiful cars from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There's no better way to enjoy history than to experience it firsthand down the streets of downtown Sacramento. 
​Will it be a 1943 Army Jeep, or maybe a 1951 Ford Crestliner? With so many cars to choose from, the possibilities are (almost) endless! So, what are you waiting for? The engine is already warmed up for you! No reservations necessary!

On&nbsp;January 6th, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Founder of the West Coast Stock Car &amp; Motorsports Hall of Fame and Godfather of NASCAR on the West Coast, Ken Clapp, will be at CAM!
Enjoy an afternoon of history, stories, and more. Refreshments will be served, and all proceeds benefit the Racing Gallery at the California Automobile Museum. Get your tickets before they're gone for $25 each!

A Conversation With Ken Clapp at the California Automobile Museum

Love cars? Want to join a community that celebrates and enjoys cars as much as you do? Have we got the opportunity for you! It's signup time for our 2026 Docent Class! Join a community of close-knit car lovers and share your love of history and automobiles with the community. Docents are the core of CAM, and everyone who loves cars is welcome! It's perfect for people of all ages who want to volunteer in their free time, and have fun to boot! Being a docent also comes with opportunities to be part of our different crews - Detail Crew, which keeps our cars shiny and beautiful, Pit Crew, which keeps cars in running condition, and Road Crew, which brings out cars to the local community. Interested? The next docent class program runs from January through April, and preps you for everything you need to know about being a docent, along with tons of car history. Register at our front desk or online - registration is $50 for museum members, and $99 for nonmembers! Visit calautomuseum.org! Docent training starts on January 7th, 2026.
