Music, comedy and fascinating rhythm come alive in this one-of-a-kind 2-person band. Our original music can be found under: mrcarolmrsjoe on soundcloud and a few other venues. When we aren't writing or playing music, we are honing our skills as problem solvers and trailblazers via our youtube channel 'The Unlisted Receptionist' and 'On the Anthelope Trail.' Inspired by the pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll, i.e. combining the brassy riffs of swing bands, the energetic dance rhythms of jump blues, and the comedic flair of vaudeville theater in arrangements you won’t hear anywhere else. You can take that however you want. But, while most neo big bands rely on trumpets, trombones and saxophones, the Rocking Chairs brings the music to life with a more ethereal palette of guitars, cello, mandolin, an occasional keyboard and bass, and an assortment of novelty instruments.
